To: All Interested Agencies, Groups, and Individuals In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act, the Council on Environmental Quality regulations for implementing NEPA (40 CFR Parts 1500 through 1508) and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) implementing guidance, NEH has determined that the Garnet A. Wilson Public Library of Pike County proposed construction of a 19,000 square foot Main Library facility in Waverly, Ohio, will have no significant adverse impact on the quality of the human environment.
The proposed construction will take place at 207 N. Market Street, Waverly, Ohio 45690. The new facility will have an approximately 19,000 square foot footprint, and will replace the existing library, which is overcapacity and can no longer meet the needs of the community. A draft Environmental Assessment (EA), Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) were prepared and made available to the public for 30 days. No comments were received, and the documents are now final. Because NEH has determined there will be no significant impact an Environmental Impact Statement will not be prepared.
The final EA, signed FONSI, and Public Notice are available online at NEH Environmental Assessments and Public Notices.
