Get a Library Card

Please visit your local branch and present a photo ID with birth date to obtain a library card.  

The first library card is issued free of charge.  The fee for a replacement card is $1.

Parents/guardians must fill out a registration card and sign for children under the age of 16.

History

The library was founded in 1939, as the Pike County Free Public Library. The first librarian was Miss Madison Irwin. From 1939 to 1978, the library was part of the Waverly High School. In 1978, the library was moved to North High Street in Waverly. Finally, in 1985, the library was moved to its present location at 207 North Market Street in Waverly.

The Garnet A. Wilson Public Library of Pike County, Ohio, strives to develop collections, resources, and services that meet the cultural, informational, recreational, and educational needs of the residents of the area. It is within this context that the Garnet A. Wilson Public Library has agreed to participate in OPLIN, the Ohio Public Library Information Network, which allows access to the Internet.
